Investigation Discovery series will feature Lexington homicide of Trent DiGiuro
Investigation Discovery will feature the Lexington homicide of Trent DiGiuro on its series Cold Blood on Thursday, April 26 at 9 p.m.
Cold Blood returns to the crime scene so that viewers can examine all the evidence for themselves. The series presents competing versions of what may have happened, and re-enacts the events from different perspectives as new evidence comes to light. Each episode tells the story of one homicide investigation that revolves around the forensic investigation of the crime scene, and follows the clues wherever they may lead.
In July 1994, a budding college football player’s life was cut short when his 21st birthday party ends with his brutal murder. University of Kentucky student Trent DiGiuro died of a gunshot to the head with a bullet wound so exact that Lexington police though it looked like a hit. But it took nearly six years before anyone was able to find out who would want to kill such a promising young man.
This episode includes interviews with:
Mike DiGiuro, Trent’s Father
Det. Don Evans, Lexington Police (1994-2004)
Officer Mike Wright, University of Kentucky Police (1994-1996)
Ray Larson, District Attorney
Judge Thomas Clark, Circuit Court Judge, Lexington
Sam Dick, WKYT News Anchor, Lexington
William Tobin, Forensic Consultant
