Open burning, consumer fireworks ban lifted

The ban on open burning and on the use of common and consumer fireworks will end at 7 a.m. Saturday, July 14, as a result of recent rainfall, the Mayor’s Office and the Division of Fire and Emergency Services announced today.

Citizens are reminded that open burning is only legal if they have an active burn permit issued by Fire. Fireworks are only legal between the hours of 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. except on July 3-4 and Dec. 31, when they can be used until midnight.
