The third annual Prasco John Calipari Basketball ProCamp featured some familiar faces for young Wildcat fans Thursday.
Each day of the four-day camp is hosted by at least one of the departed players from the 2012 UK men’s basketball national championship team. On Thursday, former Wildcats Darius Miller, Doron Lamb and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist were guest hosts. Their former teammates Eloy Vargas, Terrence Jones and Marquis Teague are scheduled to host the camp on Friday and Saturday. National Player of the Year Anthony Davis was scheduled to participate in the camp before being named to the U. S. national team for the London Olympics.
“When I was little I went to a New York Knicks camp and saw Alan Houston, so I was going crazy when I saw him,” Lamb said. “I know how it feels when they see us out there. They really like us a lot, they love us a lot. They bleed blue, so it means a lot for them: us being on the court with them, just showing we care.”
