Take the ‘Google Yourself Challenge’; it may surprise you how much information is public
If you think it doesn’t matter what you post about yourself online, think again!
According to the Google Yourself Challenge, as people become more comfortable with the Internet they tend to post more personal information about themselves – phone numbers, birth dates and more. And once you put personal information online, you have little control over who sees it or how it’s used.
To illustrate that point, the Google Yourself Challenge asked people to Google themselves. Why don’t you give it a try? You may be surprised just how much other people can learn about you online – and how much that information could affect everything from job prospects to your safety.
