The event is open to the public. Parking is available in the Welcome Center Garage.
The installation ceremony will take place at The Bank of Kentucky Center. Doors open at 1:15 p.m. A prelude concert will begin at 1:30 p.m., featuring the combined NKU Symphonic Winds, NKU Philharmonic Orchestra and the award-winning NKU Chamber Choir.
A public reception will immediately follow the Installation in the W. Frank Steely Library at approximately 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Guests may visit the “Kentucky Impressions: Paul Sawyier Original Works” exhibit in the Schlachter University Archives on the library’s first floor and the Eva G. Farris Reading Room on the library’s second floor.
On Saturday at 9 a.m., the “Mearns Two-Miler” will extend the celebration. The new president is a devoted runner. The event is a family-friendly two-mile run/walk on NKU’s campus, starting and ending at The Bank of Kentucky Center. It is a nono-competitive, untimed event. No pre-registration is required.
