‘Dancing with Stars’ pros will swing into Lexington to present ‘Ballroom with a Twist’
Ballroom with a Twist, the critically acclaimed international dance production choreographed by ABC-TVs Dancing With the Stars and Emmy-nominated Louis van Amstel will be presented by Broadway Live at the Opera House for five performances January 4 – 6th.
Co-presented by the Opera House Fund and Arthur Murray Dance Studios, this show, starring Dancing With The Stars celebrity pros Jonathan Roberts and Anna Trebunskaya, finalist Randi Lynn Strong (Season 5) from TV’s So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol singers David Hernandez (Season 7) and Gina Glocksen (Season 6), pushes the boundaries of ballroom dance, infusing it with the energy and intensity of the latest contemporary and “hip-hop” styles.
On Thursday, Jan. 3, a 45-minute group ballroom dance lesson will be offered by Anna Trebunskaya and Jonathan Roberts on the Rupp Arena lobby floor. Admittance to this is free with a Ballroom with a Twist ticket. Details about the event can be found here
Ballroom with a Twist is family-friendly show. It brings a frenzy of sizzling dance moves by professional international dancers spanning the hot moves of samba, waltz, foxtrot, quickstep and jive.
Performances for Ballroom with a Twist are Friday, Jan. 4, at 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets start at $30 and are on sale now at the Lexington Center ticket office 859-233-3535,
