The economic impact of a premiere event coming to Lexington is significant enough but in the case of the Alltech National Horse Show a number of local charities will benefit in a very big way.  A portion of the proceeds of ticket sales will go to designated charities – and the spectacular Black Tie gala is entirely a charitable function.

The Black Tie gala on Tuesday, November 1, precedes the start of the 4-day “world series of horse shows” which runs November 2-6 at the Kentucky Horse Park.  It is the 128thannual National Horse Show, coming to Lexington for the first time. The gala benefits the Kentucky Equine Humane Center.

Tables and tickets are still available for the gala, to be held at the Alltech Arena beginning with a cocktail party at Pearse’s Place at 7 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7:30 p.m.  Sponsor tables of 8 at $5,000 include a special gift for each guest; $1,500 tables for 8 are also still available.  Individual tickets are $200 each. To purchase tickets, call 859-885-9613.

Entertainment will be provided by Ronan Tynan, an Irish Tenor, and Everett McCorvey of the University of Kentucky Opera Theater. Corbett-Frame Jewelers is creating a custom piece to be auctioned off at the event.

To purchase a seat or table call 859-885-9613. Donations can be made to the Kentucky Equine Humane Center by visiting www.kyehc.org.

Fifty percent of the sale of general admission tickets to the horse show itself will go to various charities featured each day.  Tickets start at $10 for adults; children are free and parking is free.

The schedule of charities benefiting from the Alltech National Horse Show ticket sales is as follows:

Evening: The Alltech Sustainable Haiti Project

Just days following Haiti’s devastating earthquake in 2010, Alltech began its work to help rebuild the country through tangible, long-term investment. Within 48 hours of the quake’s cessation, Dr. Pearse Lyons was in Haiti identifying opportunities for involvement, and the Alltech Sustainable Haiti Project was launched. Today the project includes complete financial responsibility as well as renovations for a grade school in northern Haiti and the resurrection of a Haitian gem — the country’s 100% mountain-grown Arabica coffee. Organically grown and Fair Trade Certified™, Alltech’s Café Citadelle coffee is hand-picked, ensuring a consistent and flavorful coffee at the peak of its richness. Most importantly, all proceeds from Café Citadelle go to the thousands of families working for the co-op as well as two Haitian primary schools.
