‘Hoops, Hops and Hope’ to benefit Bluegrass
Domestic Violence Program, and others

The Bluegrass Junior Women’s Club will hold the first “Hoops, Hops and Hope” fundraising event on Saturday, March 17 to raise money for the Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program and other charities the club supports.

The Bluegrass Junior Women’s Club is comprised of women who work to fundraise for svarious charity organizations in Lexington that assist families, women and children, said Brittney Wells, first vice president of the club.

The club’s “Hoops Hops and Hope” fundraiser will take place at 8 p.m at the Barrel House at 903 Manchester Street. The event will offer hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine and seven screens for viewing the March Madness basketball games.

“There will definitely be easy access to watch the games you want to watch,” Wells said.

Wells said the club members usually hold a gala at the Castle Post in the spring, but decided to try something new this year.

“We decided to try something a little bit lower scale…We lowered our ticket prices and made it a more casual affair,” Wells said. “I think it’s going to be a really good first year. We’re excited – I think it’s going to be a fun party.”

Though Sponsorship packages are nearly sold out, Wells said, those interested can email BJWC@insightbb.com to inquire about the packages. General admission tickets, which are $60, are available at http://www.bluegrassjuniors.org/BJWC/Gala.html and will be sold at the door on Saturday.
