KCTC, UK-sponsored fifth annual Supplier Diversity Fair coming up Sept. 20 — time to register

The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and the University of Kentucky (UK) are sponsoring the fifth annual Supplier Diversity Fair Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 12:30-4 p.m. (ET) at the Frankfort Convention Center, 405 Mero Street.

The event is open to minority-owned, women-owned, differently-abled and veteran-owned businesses interested in potential opportunities with KCTCS and UK. Last year’s event featured 55 booth with more than 150 attendees.

In addition to KCTCS and UK, buyers and officials attending from other organizations may include Commerce Lexington, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, Small Business Administration, Toyota and many more.

“This is a terrific event for business owners to meet people from all across the state who make purchasing decisions,” said KCTCS System Director of Business Services Vikki Parman. “These one-on-one discussions can lead to significant opportunities for business owners.”

In fiscal year 2016-17, KCTCS spent $3.1 million with diverse suppliers.

In 2015, KCTCS’ Supplier Diversity Initiative was recognized as one of the top five finalists for Best Practices at the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers spring conference. Additionally, KCTCS won the 2016 Lexington Urban League’s Corporate Champion of Diversity Award.
