Parks Commissioner Donnie Holland formally opened the Broken Spoke Mountain Bike Trail last week, noting the new attraction would help attract more tourists to the park.

“Levi Jackson State Park is very fortunate to have the city of London as a partner in this project – the second one in recent years,” Holland said. The city supported the Tree Top Adventure project that opened last year.

The city of London and the Friends of Levi Jackson State Park funded the bike trail, which can be expanded. It was designed and constructed by Keith Cottingim and others in the mountain biking community.

Levi Jackson State Park has a campground, swimming pool, historic grist mill, museum and gift shop, hiking trails, and the Tree Top Adventure aerial park. For more information, visit www.parks.ky.gov
