Starbucks closed? Twitter says it’s so …
but most locations in U.S., Canada now open

Twitter is abuzz this morning as Starbucks customers in the United States and Canada found some of the coffee company’s doors closed.

Jim Olsen, vice president of corporate communications for Starbucks, said the “small number” of closings occurred when “overnight preventive maintenance” on a piece of equipment in some stores could not be completed.

Most stores, including those in the Lexington area, were reopened, Olsen said.

“Our hope is that the ones that weren’t serviced overnight will be opened in the first hours of this morning.”
