Gallery B to host ‘Plein Aire Painters of the Bluegrass’ show opening, possibly last exhibit

Staff Report

Gallery B, 145 West Main St. will host an opening event for the Plein Aire Painters of the Bluegrass exhibit, which will run through Sept. 29. This group of painters—including 20 local artists— encourages the practice and development of plein air painting in the Central Kentucky area. The show reflects the spirit of plein air painting in more sixty new works.

In addition to the local scenery depicted in the show, pieces include outside scenes from the Red River Gorge, Bluegrass farms, scenes of France, and several other places members of the group have traveled and had the opportunity to paint.

According to gallery director Wagoner, this exhibit may be the last for Gallery B, as they have lost their lease. The opening event is Friday, Aug. 24 from 5:30 – 8 p.m.
