Agriculture commissioner to chair meeting
to discuss hemp-growing efforts, news

Have an opinion on growing hemp? Share it at the public meeting of the Kentucky Industrial Hemp Commission March 21 at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held in the office of Agriculture Commissioner James Comer at 111 Corporate Drive in Frankfort.

Discussed at the meeting will be any news from the bill before the legislature to allow farmers to grow hemp as well as the latest developments in the hemp industry.
Members John Riley, Craig Lee, Katie Moyer, Deborah Hill and David Hadland will discuss potential action on SB 50 and any possible amendments. There will also be a report on efforts of the educational and public outreach committees.
Commissioner Comer will report on meetings with companies that could provide potential markets for state hemp, efforts at the state legislature and news regarding Kentucky’s federal delegation.
