Stonestreet Farm is asking for help in picking a name for the colt out of 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra that will live up to the reputation of his famous parents.
Foaled January 25, the bay colt was sired by Curlin, who was himself horse of the year in 2007 and 2008.
“Rachel Alexandra and Curlin’s very spirited colt needs a name and we are looking for suggestions from racing fans! We are looking for a name that reflects the legacy of the late Jess Jackson and embodies the vision through which he bred his two champions to produce this very special colt,” says the farm’s website.
The fan who picks the winning name will receive an overnight stay for two in the guesthouse at Stonestreet Farm in Lexington as well as a private tour of the farm and visit with Rachel and her colt.
Fans are asked to submit one name via email to VisitRachelA@Stonestreetfarms.com by Feb. 19. Entries must include your name, mailing address and phone number. Only one entry per household will be considered, and if an email contains more than one suggestion only the first name will be considered. In the event the final selection reflects multiple submissions, a drawing will determine the winner
Stonestreet Farm reserves the right of final approval on the name selected, and travel expenses for the winner are not included in the prize.
