Big Brown marks first stakes winner as Brown Almighty wins $50,000 Sunny’s Halo Stakes

Big Brown was represented by his first stakes winner Saturday when Brown Almighty won the $50,000 Sunny’s Halo S. at Louisiana Downs.

The chestnut colt is trained by Tim Ice and is owned by Tri-Star Racing, LLC and remained undefeated while winning the 7 furlong Sunny’s Halo. He was a debut winner at Arlington Park on July 14, taking a one mile maiden special weight valued at $40,000 by 1-3/4 lengths with authority.

 

Bred by MAP Mare Partnership #3, Brown Almighty is out of the Gone For Real mare, Gone Goodbye. He was a $50,000 Keeneland November weanling in 2010, then RNAed the following September at Keeneland for $47,000. He went on to sell for $22,000 at the OBS April Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale earlier this year before being put in training with Ice.

 

Kentucky Derby winner and Eclipse Champion Three-Year-Old Big Brown is represented by his first crop of two-year-olds this year. He currently has four winners (three of which were debut winners) and now a stakes winner.
