Graduates of BCTC nursing program
get ‘pinned’ during symbolic ceremony

Sixty-seven students from Bluegrass Community and Technical College’s Cooper campus Associate Degree Nursing program and 28 student from the Leestown campus Licensed Practical Nursing program received their nursing pins during BCTC’s annual pinning ceremony.

This special ceremony is given for the graduating nursing students, family and friends and serves as a symbolic welcoming of newly graduated nurses into the nursing profession. At the ceremony, members of BCTC’s nursing faculty presented the new nurses with their nursing pins. The graduates recited the Nightingale Pledge and participated in a traditional candle lighting ceremony in tribute to legendary founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale.
