Kids Can Hunger encourages students to donate goods to God’s Pantry during Sept.

Kids Can Hunger, which in 2011 began combining all public and private elementary and middle schools in Fayette County, is now one monster fall food drive to benefit God’s Pantry.

Students are encouraged to bring in nonperishable food between Sept. 4 and Oct. 31 during the window determined by their school. At the end of the drive, God’s Pantry will rank each school based on the number of pounds of food donated per student.
 

The food drive is generously sponsored by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, and schools can receive as much as $1,000 for their efforts. Last fall’s big winners were Veterans Park Elementary and Cassidy Elementary.
