MiLB roundup: Wade Gaynor goes 3-3

The three Kentucky Minor League Baseball teams were winless Monday, but one former WKU star had a big night at the plate in high A. You can see those stories and more below in the daily BluGrass Baseball MiLB roundup:

 

The Lexington Legends opened a three-game homestand with a 4-3 loss to West Virginia. First baseman Zach Johnson was 2-3 with one RBI and one walk. Right-handed pitcher Jonas Dufek did not receive a decision despite posting a quality start, surrendering three runs on seven hits in seven innings while striking out three batters and walking one. Right-handed pitcher Murilo Gouvea was charged with his first loss after surrendering one run on one hit and one walk in one inning of relief. (Box Score)

 

A five-hit game from second baseman Ryan Brett was not enough to prevent a 4-3 loss for the Bowling Green Hot Rods. All five of Brett’s hits were singles, and he scored one run. Right fielder Drew Vettleson was 2-3 with one double, two RBI, one run scored and two walks. Right-handed pitcher Roberto Gomez was charged with the loss after surrendering four runs on four hits in four an two-third innings while striking out five batters and walking four. (Box Score)

 

Lehigh Valley used a solo home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to send the Louisville Bats to a 7-6 loss. Third baseman Chris Valaika was 3-5 with one double, and catcher Dioner Navarro was 2-4 with one double and one run scored. Shortstop Kristopher Negron and left fielder Danny Dorn slugged home runs for Louisville. Left-handed pitcher Travis Webb was charged with the loss after surrendering the game-winning home run while recording just one out. (Box Score)

 

Former Hancock County High School and WKU infielder Wade Gaynor was 3-3 with two doubles, one RBI and two walks for high A Lakeland.

 

Former St. Mary’s High School infielder Jonathan Roof was 3-4 with two RBI, two runs scored and one walk for AAA Tucson.

 

Former Trinity High School infielder Tyler Kuhn was 3-4 with one double for AAA Charlotte.

 

Former UofL infielder Ryan Wright was 2-2 with one double, one RBI, two runs scored and one walk for low A Dayton.

 

Former UK infielder Chris Bisson was 2-4 with one run scored for high A Lake Elsinore.

 

Former Henry Clay High School and Bellarmine infielder Patrick Brady was 2-4 with one RBI, one run scored and one walk for low A Clinton.

 

Former Pleasure Ridge Park High School infielder Zack Cox was 2-4 for AAA Memphis.

 

Former UK outfielder Lance Ray slugged his fifth home run of the season for high A Fort Myers.

 

Former Bowling Green High School left-handed pitcher Jack Snodgrass did not receive a decision after surrendering five runs on nine hits in three and two-third innings while striking out two batters and walking two in a start for high A San Jose.
