MiLB roundup: Dominguez shines in AAA

The three Kentucky Minor League Baseball teams were winless on Thursday, but two former Kentucky college standouts posted three-hit performances. You can see those stories and more below in the daily BluGrass Baseball MiLB roundup:

 

Asheville scored a single run in the top of the ninth inning to send the Lexington Legends to a 5-4 loss. Legends designated hitter Jesse Wierzbicki was 2-4 with one double, one RBI and one run scored, and third baseman Matt Duffy slugged his 11th home run of the season. Right-handed pitcher Luis Ordosgoitti did not receive a decision after surrendering four runs on nine hits in six innings while striking out four batters and walking one. Right-handed pitcher Murilo Gouvea was charged with the loss after surrendering one run on two hits in two innings. (Box Score)

 

West Michigan pounded out 11 hits to send the Bowling Green Hot Rods to a 9-1 loss. No Hot Rods batter tallied multiple hits in the game, and designated hitter Cameron Seitzer‘s double was the team’s only extra-base hit. Left-handed pitcher Felipe Rivero was charged with the loss after surrendering five runs on seven hits in six and one-third innings while striking out six batters and walking two. (Box Score)

 

Rochester scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to send the Louisville Bats to an 8-6 loss. Bats first baseman Danny Dorn was 3-3 with one double one RBI, three runs scored and one walk, and designated hitter Dioner Navarro was 3-4 with one run scored and one walk. Catcher Corky Miller was 2-2 with one home run, two RBI, one run scored and two walks. Right-handed pitcher Jordan Smith was charged with the loss after surrendering two runs on three hits in two innings of relief. (Box Score)

 

Former UofL infielder Chris Dominguez was 3-4 with two doubles, three RBI, one run scored and one stolen base for AAA Fresno.

 

Former UK infielder Chris Bisson was 3-4 with one stolen base for high A Lake Elsinore.

 

Former UofL outfielder Josh Richmond was 2-3 with one RBI and one run scored for high A Myrtle Beach.

 

Former Butler High School infielder Seth Bynum was 2-4 with one triple, two RBI and two runs scored for AAA Syracuse.

 

Former Butler High School and UofL infielder Adam Duvall slugged his 12th home run of the season for high A San Jose.

 

Former UofL left-handed pitcher Bob Revesz earned his first win of the season with two scoreless innings of relief for low A Quad Cities.
