The three Kentucky Minor League Baseball teams were 1-2 on Friday, but two former Louisville High School standouts posted three-hit performances for their respective teams. You can see those stories and more below in the daily BluGrass Baseball MiLB roundup:
Asheville scored three runs in the ninth inning to send the Lexington Legends to a 5-3 loss. Legends second baseman Delino DeShields Jr. was 2-4 with one RBI and one run scored, and right fielder Justin Gominsky was 2-4 with one double and one RBI. Left-handed pitcher Luis Cruz did not receive a decision after surrendering two runs on seven hits in eight innings while striking out five batters and walking one. Right-handed pitcher Carlos Quevedo was charged with the loss after surrendering three runs on three hits in one inning. (Box Score)
A single run in the bottom of the 10th inning was the game’s only offense in a 1-0 for the Bowling Green Hot Rods versus Fort Wayne. Center fielder Todd Glaesmann tripled home right fielder Drew Vettleson to plate the games only run. Right-handed pitcher Parker Markel did not receive a decision after surrendering three hits in six shutout inning while striking out five batters and walking none. Right-handed reliever Austin Hubbard earned his first win of the season after striking out three of the final four batters of the game. (Box Score)
Rehabbing Cincinnati Reds third baseman Scott Rolen was not enough to help the Louisville Bats avoid a 4-1 loss to Rochester. Rolen was 1-3, and Bats catcher Dioner Navarro was 2-4 with one RBI. Right-handed pitcher Chad Reineke was charged with the loss after surrendering two runs on five hits in seven innings while striking out four batters and walking one. (Box Score)
Former Pleasure Ridge Park High School infielder Zack Cox was 3-4 with one double, two RBI and one run scored for AAA Memphis.
Former Trinity High School infielder Tyler Kuhn was 3-5 with one double and two RBI for AAA Charlotte.
Former Butler High School and UofL infielder Adam Duvall was 2-4 with one double and one RBI for high A San Jose.
Former UofL infielder Chris Dominguez was 2-5 with one RBI for AAA Fresno.
Former St. Mary’s High School infielder Jonathan Roof was 2-4 with one run scored for AAA Tucson.
Former Pleasure Ridge Park infielder Zach Osborne singled in his only at-bat in his professional debut for short-season Tri-City.
Former Male High School and UofL catcher Jeff Arnold slugged his first home run of the season for low A Augusta.
Former Butler County High School right-handed pitcher Keith Butler earned his 14th save of the season with a scoreless inning of relief for AA Springfield.
Former UofL left-handed pitcher Justin Marks was charged with a loss after surrendering three runs on six hits in five and two-third innings while striking out seven batters and walking one in a start for AA Northwest Arkansas.
Former UK outfielder Brian Adams was 0-2 with two strikeouts in his professional debut for short-season Eugene.
