The three active Kentucky Minor League Baseball teams combined for a 2-1 record Thursday, and 2012 draftee posted a second consecutive multi-hit game for his short-season team. You can see those stories and more below in the daily BluGrass Baseball MiLB roundup:
Lexington Legends left fielder Jordan Scott singled home right fielder Mike Kvasnicka in the bottom of the 15th inning against former NKU left-handed pitcher Jarrett Casey to send the Legends to a 6-5 win versus Kannapolis. Legends second baseman Delino DeShields Jr. was 5-7 with one double and one RBI. Scott was 3-6 with one RBI, one run scored and one walk, and Kvasnicka was 3-7 with one run scored. Left-handed reliever Gabriel Garcia earned his first win with two scoreless innings. (Box Score)
The Bowling Green Hot Rods scored two runs in the eighth inning to earn a come-from-behind, 3-2 win versus Burlington. Hot Rods second baseman Ryan Brett was 3-4 with one double, two RBI and one run scored, and designated hitter Keith Castillo was 2-3 with one run scored. Right-handed pitcher Jake Floethe did not receive a decision despite surrendering just one run on four hits in six innings while striking out six batters and walking one. Right-handed reliever Andrew Bellatti was credited with the win after surrendering one run on two hits in one and two-third innings, and right-handed pitcher Austin Hubbard recorded the final four outs for his 13th save. The Louisville Bats surrendered 15 hits in an 8-5 loss to Gwinnett. Bats shortstop Didi Gregorius was 2-4 with one double and two RBI in his Louisville debut. Gregorius was ranked the No. 8 prospect in the Cincinnati Reds system by Baseball America prior to the 2012 season. Right-handed reliever Nick Christiani was charged with the loss after surrendering one run on two hits in two innings. (Box Score)
Former Henry Clay High School, Morehead State and UK outfielder Cameron Flynn was 3-5 with one double, two RBI and one run scored for short-season Jamestown. The performance marked the second consecutive three-hit game for Flynn.
Former Heath High School and UK outfielder Chad Wright was 2-4 with one run scored for low A West Michigan.
Former UK catcher Luke Maile was 2-3 with one RBI, one run scored and one walk for short-season Hudson Valley.
Former Apollo High School and WKU infielder Logan Robbins was 2-2 with one RBI, one run scored and two walks for rookie-level Danville.
Former Lafayette High School and EKU infielder Jayson Langfels was 2-3 with one double for high A Modesto.
Former UK right-handed pitcher Jordan Cooper earned his third save of the season after surrendering two hits in two scoreless innings of relief for short-season State College. Cooper has yet to surrendered an earned run in 10 and one-third innings with State College.
Former UofL left-handed reliever Dean Kiekhefer earned his ninth save of the season with a scoreless inning of relief for high A Palm Beach.
Former UofL right-handed pitcher Derek Self earned his second save with one and one-third scoreless innings of relief for short-season Auburn.
Former UofL left-handed pitcher Zach Jackson posted a quality start but was charged with a loss after surrendering three runs on five hits in seven innings while striking out three batters and walking five in a start for AAA Round Rock.
