The Lexington Legends finished a four-game sweep of Kannapolis with a 4-3 win. Legends left fielder Jordan Scott was 2-4 with two RBI and one run scored, and second baseman Delino DeShields Jr. stole his 65th base of the season. Right-handed pitcher Jonas Dufek posted a quality start but did not earn a decision after surrendering three runs on six hits in six and two-third innings while striking out seven batters and walking one. Left-handed reliever Thomas Shirley was credited with his first win as Legend after surrendering two hits in one and one-third scoreless innings, and right-handed pitcher Dayan Diaz pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his 13th save. The Bowling Green Hot Rods pounded out 14 hits in an 8-2 win versus Burlington. Hot Rods left fielder Taylor Motter was 3-5 with one home run, one double, five RBI and two runs scored, and designated hitter Cameron Seitzer was 3-5 with one double, one RBI and two runs scored. Left-handed pitcher Ryan Carpenter earned his ninth win of the season after surrendering two runs on five hits in six innings while striking out six batters and walking one, and right-handed reliever Stayton Thomas did not surrender a run in three innings for his third save. The Louisville Bats set a franchise record for runs scored and margin-of-victory in a 22-1 win versus Gwinnett. Five different Louisville players tallied at least three hits in the 23-hit performance, led by center fielder Denis Phipps, who was 5-6 with one home run, four RBI, three runs scored and one walk. First baseman Neftali Soto, left fielder Cody Puckett and second baseman Chris Valaika also homered in the game. Right-handed pitcher Sean Gallagher earned his seventh win of the season after surrendering one run on five hits in six innings while striking out two batters and walking none. (Box Score)
Former Pleasure Ridge Park High School infielder Zack Cox was 2-4 with one home run, one double, one RBI and two runs scored for AAA Memphis.
Former Heath High School and UK outfielder Chad Wright was 2-4 with two doubles, one RBI, two runs scored and one walk for low A West Michigan.
Former Bowling Green High School left-handed pitcher Jack Snodgrass did not receive a decision after surrendering one run on six hits in five and one-third innings while striking out three batters and walking five in a start for high A San Jose.
Former Boyle County High School right-handed pitcher Patrick Cooper was charged with a loss after surrendering two runs on two hits in six innings while striking out two batters and walking one in a start for AA Erie.
Former Trinity High School infielder Tyler Kuhn was 2-5 with one double for AAA Charlotte.
Former NKU left-handed pitcher David Middendorf earned his second win of the season after surrendering one unearned run on four hits in two innings of relief for rookie-level Burlington.
Former Lexington Catholic High School infielder Will Hurt tallied his first professional hit and his drove in two runs for the rookie-level GCL Twins.
