Two Kentucky college athletes competed in the 12th full day of competition at the London Olympics Wednesday. You can see a rundown of their performances below:
The U. S. men’s basketball team advanced to the semifinals with a 119-86 win versus Australia. Former UK basketball player Anthony Davis played three minutes in the win but did not score. He was 0-3 from the field with one three rebounds.
Team USA returns to action Friday against Argentina in the semifinal round. The winner of that game will play the winner of Spain and Russian on Sunday for the gold medal.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore Danny Caluag finished 31st in the qualifying round of the mens’ BMX competition with a time of 40.9 seconds. Caluag’s time was slowest among the riders who finished their run. He will race from gate eight in the third heat of the first round of competition Thursday. First-round action is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. EST.
