March Madness Marching Band to host
fundraising event at Buster’s in Lexington

Lexington’s March Madness Marching Band will hold a fundraiser at Buster’s Billiards & Backroom on on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. to raise money to travel to Austin, Texas for the Honk! Festival of Activist Street Bands.

 

The Monkey Monkey Monkey Bash will feature performances by the March Madness Marching Band, Big Fresh, the Blueberries, Rakadu Gypsy Dance, the Payback, Prefab Rehab, Ed McClanahand, FUMA, Chip Chop and Gentleman Relish.

 

The event will also offer food for sale from Gumbo Ya-Ya, a John Lackey painting for auction, a photo booth and more.

 

 

The volunteer March Madness Marching Band was founded in 2008 and performs at parades, such as Lexington’s Pride Festival, Bike Day and 2nd Sunday. The 50-person marching band also opens for bands and plays special shows at Buster’s. They have also been performed at the Forecastle Music Festival in Louisville.

 

Tickets for the event are $15 ahead of time are available online at the band’s website and at CD Central and the Morris Book Shop. The ticket price goes up to $20 if purchased at the door.
