The City of Gatlinburg held the Smoky Mountain Summer Experience at Thunder Over Louisville on Saturday April 21, 2012.
Guests had the opportunity to build their own miniature, Gatlinburg black bear or donate their bear to Kosair Children’s Hospital to bring a token of the Smokies to children patients and their families.
The Gatlinburg mascot, Zeno the bear, delivered the bears on Tuesday, April 24 from 3 to 5 p.m., along with donations that were made by visitors at the Smoky Mountain Summer Experience at Thunder Over Louisville. Some of the bears were already made by children who donated them at Thunder Over Louisville, while the rest were made by family members of children at Kosair’s.
