Every year, an estimated 25 million women around the world will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Every 74 seconds a women dies of breast cancer. On July 20 at Connemara Golf Course, golfers can tee up for a cure.

Up to 75 percent of the Komen Lexington net income stays in the Central and Eastern Kentucky area to fund local mammography screenings, treatment dollars and education programs for the medically underserved. The remaining dollars support the Susan G. Komen Promise Fund, a research program that is dedicated to finding a cure.
Each year, Komen Lexington issues grants to organizations to help fight breast cancer. 2012 recipients include Kentucky Pink Connection, Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, King’s Daughters Medical Center, Saint Elizabeth Regional, North Central Area Health Education Center, American Cancer Hope Lodge, Saint Joseph Breast Center, Saint Clair Regional Medical Center, Madison County Health Department, Kentucky Women Cancer Screening Program, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Saint Joseph Martin Hospital and Pattie A. Clay Hospital.
