Kentucky Downs’ Monday race card canceled, 2012 live race meet concludes Wednesday

Kentucky Downs canceled its race card Monday due to inclement weather and less-than-perfect track conditions.
 

“Safety comes first in all areas of operations at Kentucky Downs,” said Corey Johnsen, Kentucky Downs president. “We walked the race course with a number of jockeys and several racing officials and came to a mutual conclusion that to minimize the risk of injury that it was in the best interest of all participants that we not race today.”
 

Kentucky Downs 2012 live race meet is scheduled to conclude with an eight-race card on Wednesday, Sept. 19. First post time is set for 1:35 p.m.
