Allegiant announces it will add twice-weekly service to New Orleans starting in February

Allegiant Travel Company announced the addition of new service from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to New Orleans (MSY) with passengers able to book travel for as low as $85 one-way.

“As Allegiant’s fastest growing market in their 15 year history, we are thrilled Allegiant is continuing to expand at CVG,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. “Our passengers want to travel to the Big Easy. New Orleans will be the ninth market served by Allegiant at CVG.”

“With this new service to New Orleans, Allegiant is pleased to offer Cincinnati travelers yet another iconic and popular destination option,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant Travel Company senior vice president of planning. “With its renowned culture and attractions, we’re confident local travelers will embrace this new service and take advantage of the great travel deals they’ve come to expect from us.”

Starting Feb. 4, passengers can travel to New Orleans twice per week from February to May. Service will initially operate a Wednesday-Saturday schedule and then change to a Monday-Friday schedule. Allegiant will operate the 177 seat A320 and the 166 seat MD 80. Tickets and vacation packages can be booked through Allegiant.com.

“Allegiant started service from CVG in February 2014, with service two times per week to Orlando and Tampa Bay,” said Wm.T. (Bill) Robinson III, Kenton County Airport Board Chairman. “With today’s expansion to New Orleans, Allegiant will offer over 20 flights per week to nine different destinations. This growth would not be possible without the tremendous support of the Tri-State region.”

Airline partners at CVG offer passengers more non-stop flights than any other airport in the region, including direct international service to Paris, Toronto and Cancun. Flights may be booked at www.cvgairport.com, where low fares are updated daily.

CVG is home to DHL’s North America hub. CVG has been rated the Best Regional Airport in North America four straight years by SkyTrax, an independent, London-based air transport research organization. In 2011, CVG became the first airport in the country to receive Safety Act Designation and Certification from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), giving the airport the highest level of protections under the Act.
