Annual Wrapped in Red gala benefiting Louisville Red Cross set for March 10 at downtown Marriott

In Louisville, red is a commonly seen color to show support for UofL. However, expect to see even more people wrapped in red on March 10 to celebrate the life-saving work of the American Red Cross. To be held at the Marriott Louisville Downtown, 500 guests are expected at Wrapped in Red, which is presented by Brown-Forman.

The eighth annual Wrapped in Red Gala highlights the Red Cross Kentucky disaster volunteers, as well as the organization’s Home Fire Campaign to install free smoke alarms and provide fire safety education. “In our Red Cross Kentucky Region, 36 lives have been saved since the inception of the Home Fire Campaign nationwide initiative since 2014,” says Jennifer Adrio, Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross, Kentucky Region. “Funds raised at Wrapped in Red go toward local community programs for disaster services. The American Red Cross Louisville Area Chapter proudly serves Southern Indiana, all of Louisville & Jefferson County, and surrounding counties.” On average, the Red Cross Kentucky Region responds to more than 1,300 home fires a year, in addition to other episodic weather-related disasters.

As the signature fundraising event for the Louisville Area Red Cross, Wrapped in Red begins at 6:30 p.m. March 10 with cocktails and live & silent auctions. A specially prepared, three-course dinner will be served, followed by dancing to The Endless Summer Band from Indianapolis. For those who prefer to attend later, the dance-only-ticket Red Lounge is available, which starts at 9 p.m. All ticket options be purchased online.

In addition to Brown-Forman’s presenting sponsorship, Norton Healthcare is the Garnet Sponsor for Wrapped in Red. Sponsorship and table opportunities for Wrapped in Red 2018 are still available by calling by 502.561.3691.

This year’s gala is co-chaired by Heather Harris and Kathy McHargue. Formal red attire is encouraged. More details may be found on https://www.facebook.com/RedCrossRedLounge/ and https://www.facebook.com/louisvilleredcross/
