Baptist Health La Grange begins $5.8 million expansion, renovation of Emergency Department

Baptist Health La Grange is embarking on an expansion and renovation project with patient, staff and physician satisfaction at the heart of the plan.

The $5.8 million investment will focus on renovating and expanding the Emergency Department (ED) to meet the following goals:

• Increase capacity and maximize patient throughput
• Enhance the overall patient experience
• Improve the workflow, efficiency and environment for Emergency Department staff and physicians

In developing the expansion and renovation plan, the hospital kept patient input top-of-mind by reviewing feedback from patient experience surveys. In addition, staff and physicians provided input on the design.

As a result, the plan incorporates larger exam rooms, additional restrooms, new furniture, fast-track area for low acuity patients and much more.

“This project aligns with our shared vision to lead in clinical excellence, compassionate care and growth to meet the needs of our patients,” said Clint Kaho, president of Baptist Health La Grange. “We are delighted to take the next step forward in turning the vision for the Emergency Department into reality. It will better serve our community for many years to come.”
