Baptist Health partners with Kentucky Association of Manufacturers on COVID-19 testing solutions

The Kentucky Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has chosen Baptist Health as its partner and resource for the COVID-19 testing required for businesses to reopen.

Baptist Health is offering screening, testing and monitoring services for COVID-19 directly to employers such as those associated with KAM. Since 1911, the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers has served as the leading advocate for the manufacturing industry in the Commonwealth.

“KAM is dedicated to helping rebuild Kentucky’s economy by providing the necessary tools and resources so manufacturers can successfully reopen in compliance with state requirements,” said Lee Lingo, KAM executive director. “With 25 years’ experience in occupational health, Baptist Health has the know-how to especially assist manufacturers of all sizes with testing and monitoring for COVID-19.”

“Baptist Health understands the vital role that manufacturing plays in keeping other essential services humming,” said Jody Prather, MD, chief strategy and marketing officer for Baptist Health. “As the state’s largest health system, we have the resources and expertise to determine the most efficient and cost-effective options for these manufacturers, and have the ability to customize solutions based on their needs.”

For employers who partner with Baptist Health specifically for testing solutions, employees with COVID-19 symptoms can be tested, as well as co-workers who potentially had contact with them. Testing can be on-site, or at Baptist Health Urgent Care locations which have been testing those with COVID-19 symptoms.

Employees who test positive for COVID-19 have the option to have their health monitored with a pulse oximeter to check their blood oxygen level and a forehead thermometer to take their temperature. Those oxygen level and temperature statistics are entered into Baptist Health’s secure MyChart patient portal, with a healthcare provider alerted if the person’s condition worsens. This type of care coordination ensures a medically informed return-to-work process.

Baptist Health is a trusted provider of direct-to-employer health services. Baptist Health has an active and direct connection to 29 companies – and some 17,000 persons associated with those firms – through its strategic alliance with BluMine Health, a Direct Primary Care provider in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. BluMine Health supports employer-sponsored health and wellness initiatives by providing direct primary care to mid- to large-size employers.
