Baptist Health to celebrate Heart Health Month with full slate of speakers Saturday at Fayette Mall event

Visitors to the upcoming heart health event hosted by Baptist Health Lexington on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Fayette Mall, will learn the latest on topics including heart-healthy meals, the harmful effects of vaping, and exercises to strengthen your heart.

It’s all a part of the free event from 9 a.m. to noon at Fayette Mall in front of Dillard’s. The day will include free health screenings, giveaways, and prizes. Baptist Health physicians and other health care professionals will speak on the below topics and answer questions.

• 9 a.m.: Exercises to Strengthen Your Heart!, Jamie Robertson, NSCA-CPT & ACE health coach, fitness practitioner and exercise educator.

• 9:30 a.m.: How Do I Protect My Heart from Coronary Artery Disease?, Tyler Ricmond, MD, cardiologist.

• 10 a.m.: What is Vascular Disease? And How Does Dental Health Effect My Heart?, Hal Skinner, MD, cardiologist.

• 10:30 a.m.: Is Vaping Really Harmful? And What are the Effects of Smoking on the Heart?, Judith Hatch, APRN, smoking cessation certified.

• 11 a.m.: What is Atrial Fibrillation? Get the Latest Afib Updates and Learn how to Check Your Pulse, Craig McCotter, MD, electrophysiologist.

• 11:30 a.m.: Heart Healthy Meals, Katie Wells, RD, LD, registered dietition.
