Bardstown native Kaleb Cecil headlines 2019 Music on the Lawn series at Kentucky Bourbon Festival

The Kentucky Bourbon Festival has announced the full lineup for its 2019 Music on the Lawn series, featuring the signature sounds of Bardstown native Kaleb Cecil as the headlining act on Sept. 21.

Best known for his hit, “This Ol’ Town,” Cecil is excited to be returning to his roots and performing in his hometown of Bardstown.

“The Kentucky Bourbon Festival provides a platform to share my music with people from across the country, including those in my hometown – this is a songwriter’s dream,” said Cecil. “That being said, the Festival is much more than the music — it’s filled with rich history, culture and entertainment and I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of it.”

But music isn’t the only thing Festival patrons have to look forward to during the 2019 Festival.

“The biggest and most exciting change we will see this year will take place on The Great Lawn,” said Mike Mangeot, the interim executive director. “In the past, The Great Lawn was open just Friday through Sunday, but this year will be open Thursday through Saturday, and will feature signature cocktails from each of our distillery partners.

“We’re also adding an educational component to The Great Lawn, which will allow attendees multiple chances to meet Master Distillers and learn more about Bourbon-making.”

Another experience new to the Festival this year is, “An Evening at the Jim Beam Family Home,” which will occur on Sept. 20 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. This brand-new event will provide Festival-goers with the opportunity to mix and mingle with seventh-generation Master Distiller Fred Noe, eighth-generation Master Distiller Freddie Noe, and the rest of the Jim Beam family.

The Kentucky Bourbon Festival will continue to host its signature events in 2019, including familiar favorites like Bourbon, Cigars & Jazz the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the Great Kentucky Bourbon Tasting & Cocktail Party, and the ever-popular World Champion Bourbon Barrel Relays.
