BCTC English as a Second Language students tell their stories and struggles in new book

“Slowly is the Journey,” a book of stories written by Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) immigrant, refugee, and international students, was released last week, with an author reception and book signing celebration at the Cooper Campus.

Student authors read from their stories about the difficult journeys they have taken to create a better life for themselves and their families.

“Slowly is the Journey” is a compilation of stories by 60 BCTC student authors who represent 28 countries. The book will be available for purchase for $20.

After the publishing costs are covered, any profits will go to the BCTC English As A Second Language (ESL) Student Fund to assist students in their continued journeys toward education.
