Bids 4 Builds online auction has gifts that give back to Lexington Habitat for Humanity

Staff report
Online shopping through Dec. 8 can do more than garner gifts. Every bid made and every gift purchased in Lexington Habitat for Humanity’s fourth annual Bids 4 Builds Online Auction goes to helping the organization build homes for local families.
The project created by Lexington Habitat’s Ambassador Program receives 100 percent of the proceeds.
The 22 categories or items include everything from autographs to jewelry to experiences to wine. For example, as of this story posting, a package of a script and two autographed pictures of the cast of the CBS drama NCIS valued at $150 is currently going for $75 with six days left.
In another item, University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball tickets for the game on Dec. 21 against Belmont is valued at $140, but is currently at $160. Included in the lower level pair of tickets is a $50 off coupon with $100 purchase for any of the Bluegrass Hospitality Group restaurants such as Malone’s or Sal’s.
At this point in the auction, more than 60 percent of the items have received bids for a total of 133 bids. Almost $3,600 has been raised. This year’s auction goal is $15,000.
The Bids 4 Builds event will end with a Holiday Open House at the Habitat ReStore at 451 Southland Dr. on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. during which winning bidders can come by and pick up their items. To join the fundraiser, click here.
