Bluegrass Community & Technical College Workforce Solutions offers retirement planning class this fall

Bluegrass Community and Technical College Workforce Solutions is once again partnering with Financial Educators Network to offer retirement planning workshops this fall.

This popular course is designed to teach adults ages 50-70, who are recently retired or starting to think about retirement, how to build wealth and develop a personalized and integrated plan to achieve retirement goals.

The comprehensive course will help attendees see the financial “big picture.” They will learn to determine the amount of money needed to retire, create goals for a successful retirement, eliminate debt and improve cash flow, properly convert an IRA to a Roth IRA and select the right retirement plan distribution choice.

This comprehensive course will also help attendees plan retirement income to preserve a comfortable standard of living, transfer the risk of potential financial losses before or during retirement, and reduce or eliminate taxes, expenses, delays and legal challenges with estate planning.

The class meets twice, to total six hours of instruction. Two session options are available.

The first session is Sept. 26 and Oct. 3, at the Newtown Campus, 500 Newtown Pike, Lexington, in the Classroom Building, room 302, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

The second session will take place Oct. 1 and Oct. 8, at the Newtown Campus, 500 Newtown Pike, Lexington, in the Classroom Building, room 302, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

The cost of the course is $49, which includes one course workbook. Participants may bring a guest at no additional charge. Additional workbooks may be purchased for $25. This course is educational and non-commercial. No specific financial products are discussed or sold.
