Former Wildcats Aaron Harrison (Charlotte Hornets), Dakari Johnson (Oklahoma City Thunder), Alex Poythress (Orlando Magic Blue) and Marquis Teague (Dallas Mavericks) are currently playing in the NBA Orlando Summer League, which began Saturday. All four were in action on the first day.

Teague had 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals, followed by Johnson with 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Harrison had 12 points, four rebounds, one assists, one steal and one block. Poythress scored four points, grabbed two rebounds, had one assist, a steal and a block.

Summer league rosters for the Las Vegas league (July 8-18) will be announced at a later time.

The Utah league, which features Lyles and Young, includes four teams and six games in a round-robin format.

The NBA summer leagues are an important time of the year for professional players to either earn a free-agent contract, solidify their spot on an NBA roster, or develop and earn additional playing time for the NBA regular season.

UK had another three players (Jamal Murray, Skal Labissiere and Tyler Ulis) selected in the 2016 NBA Draft, boosting the Wildcats’ totals to 28 players drafted in the seven-year John Caliapri era.
