Five star center Dakari Johnson joins
highly touted UK recruiting class for 2013

UK head coach John Calipari has picked up his fifth five-star commitment in the class of 2013.

Dakari Johnson, 6-foot-10, 265 pound center at Montverde Academy in Florida, announced his commitment to UK Saturday on ESPNU. Rivals.com rates him as the No. 13 recruit in the country.

Johnson, the No. 1 center according to ESPN, joins what could be one of the best recruiting classes in the history of college basketball. UK has already received commitments from Andrew Harrison, the No. 1 point guard in the class of 2013 and Aaron Harrison, the No. 1 shooting guard in the class of 2013. Five star power forward Marcus Lee and five star shooting guard James Young have also committed to UK.

Bullitt East power forward Derek Willis, a three star recruit, has also committed to UK.

Calipari is still recruiting Andrew Wiggins, the No. 1 small forward in the class of 2013, and Julius Randle, the No. 1 power forward in the class of 2013.

Johnson is not stranger to Lexington. He attended middle school at Sayre. Johnson was also teammates with former Wildcat Michael Kidd-Gilchrist at St. Patrick High School in New Jersey, where he played before transferring to Montverde.
