Each year Lexington Habitat helps families transition from challenging living conditions to affordable homeownership. Since 1986 Lexington Habitat has served more than 400 families through homeownership and thousands of others through Love Your Neighborhood projects. Proceeds from Lexington Habitat’s Bids 4 Builds online auction will support families in need of affordable housing in 2015.

This December Memba, Anjelani and their five children will become Lexington Habitat for Humanity’s 400th family served through homeownership. Having fled their beloved Democratic Republic of Congo due to war, they lived for many years in a refugee camp in Mozambique. They are grateful to live in Lexington and are looking forward to the stability of owning a quality, energy-efficient home they are helping build alongside volunteers.
