Halloween Tack Sale and Trail Ride fundraiser for Riding for Hope set for Oct. 28

Area horse enthusiasts will be able to find great deals on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the 19th annual Halloween Tack Sale and Trail Ride at Central Kentucky Riding for Hope (CKRH) located within the Kentucky Horse Park.

The CKRH barn will be full of gently-used tack, riding gear, clothing and more donated by local supporters to be sold with proceeds benefiting CKRH. Donations for the Tack Sale will be accepted until Wednesday, Oct. 25.

The Trail Ride will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with a costume contest at 2 p.m. The trail meanders through approximately 10 miles of the Kentucky Horse Park and Barton Brothers Farms. There is a $45 entry fee, and riders are required to show a current coggins and health certificate for their horses.

CKRH provides approximately 3,000 therapeutic riding and horsemanship sessions annually. The impact created by the CKRH horses is made possible in large part from the funds raised at events such as this.

Established in 1981, Central Kentucky Riding for Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the community by improving the quality of life and the health of people of all ages with special physical, cognitive, emotional and social needs through therapeutic activities with the horse.

A PATH Int’l Premier Accredited Center, CKRH offers a number of year-round activities, including Therapeutic Riding, Hippotherapy, and a program for military service members, veterans and their families.
