Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels calls for charities to apply for Good Works Program grant

The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels is calling for established nonprofit charities to apply for a 2020 grant from the Good Works Program until Feb. 14.

501(c)(3) organizations with a five-year track record and who aid the citizens of Kentucky are eligible. Application guidelines and other criteria are posted on www.kycolonels.org.

Through donations from Kentucky Colonels in the Commonwealth and around the world, HOKC awarded 265 grants totaling $2.1 million in 2019. All grants are for tangible items in key areas supporting the homeless and of low income, those in crisis, those in need of health and rehabilitation and life skills training, community enhancement and support, education, youth services and historic preservation.

Said HOKC Executive Director Sherry Crose: “We are proud that donations range from $5 to major gifts and will impact more than 3.9 million Kentuckians through the combined effort of the nonprofits who received grants in 2019. Our goal is to keep up the momentum for 2020.”

HOKC is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) supporting Kentucky charities and worthy organizations through its Good Works Program. Donations are given by active Colonels appointed by the governor who chose to exercise this honor in a meaningful way.
