Innovation and Entrepreneurship:
Celebrating those who spark economy, lives

“No one can get a job if no one creates a job.”
– Wes Keltner, Gun (Video Game Consulting), headquartered in Lexington

Announcing a new KyForward feature by LeXenomics founder Eric Patrick Marr, focused on local innovators and entrepreneurs who create jobs, add quality to our lives and economy – and represent the human capital that is our greatest resource.

We believe Kentucky’s economic future (particularly if it’s going to be good) will be built by entrepreneurs. When only 20 percent of us are passionate at work,* our status quo is clearly not sustainable, our economy disintegrates when we aren’t fully alive and fully awake. But entrepreneurs live and work with all of their hearts and minds – and those are the Kentuckians we want to celebrate.

It has always been the entrepreneur who envisions and passionately builds a better future for the rest of us. Whether you are innovating the future of healthier eating or building the future of transportation, education, energy, exercise and fitness, marketing, technology or any part of our future at all (even if, like us, you are social entrepreneurs), then that which is inside you burns brighter and brighter every day, helping the rest of us live better.

And we want to spread your energy across our Commonwealth and beyond. We at LeXenomics believe the greatest natural resource in Kentucky is its people, and thanks to our new partnership with KyForward.com we want to showcase the innovative energies of Kentucky’s entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs – including the risks, emotional hurdles, pitfalls, successes and rewards they discover along their ways. Plus, with the help of our ever-expanding network, we’ll help keep you up to date on what’s happening in Kentucky’s entrepreneurial scene, in real time (as much as possible, at least).

As Alan Webber, co-founder of FastCompany magazine, famously said, “facts are facts, but stories are how we learn.” So this new page is dedicated to you – Kentucky’s entrepreneurs, innovators and world changers – and to sharing your unique stories so everyone can learn.
