The American Cancer Society will host its signature event, the Belles and Beaus Ball, “Best of the Bluegrass,” at the Carrick House in Lexington on Friday, Sept. 25. This annual event is a huge community fundraising gala expected to draw 350 guests with the goal of raising $200,000.
This event is crucial for helping the ACS and its mission of eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service. The Belles and Beaus Ball brings together the local Bluegrass community to support this cause, honor those who have been affected by the disease and celebrate those beating the disease. Local community members and organizations are invited to attend this event.
This Belles and Beaus Ball will include dinner, drinks and entertainment by The Jimmy Church Band as well as a silent auction and live auction. The chair of this year’s event is Heather Coleman. The 2015 Honorees include Kay Blevins, Marcie Lowe, Victoria Hildebrandt Meyer, John V. Boardman III, Doug Flynn and Tom Kelly. These local Belles and Beaus of the community are a mix of cancer survivors and supporters who will come together to raise funds to help the ACS further the mission.
“We are extremely excited to honor our 2015 Belles and Beaus at our signature fundraising event and to join with the local community in our mission of fighting cancer and raising cancer awareness,” ACS Distinguished Events Development Manager Ann Katherine Riddle said. “We invite anyone interested in supporting our mission to join us for an entertaining and rewarding evening in the Bluegrass.”
The Belles and Beaus event will be held at the Carrick House at 312 North Limestone in Lexington on Friday, Sept. 25. Tickets for the Belles and Beaus “Best of the Bluegrass” fundraising event can be purchased at www.bellesandbeauslexington.org.
