Kentucky Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials to host Gubernatorial Candidate Forum on April 11

The Kentucky Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (KBC-LEO) will be hosting a Gubernatorial Candidate Forum on April 11 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Kentucky State University, in Bradford Auditorium located at 400 East Main Street in Frankfort.

A reception will be held prior to the Forum at 5 p.m. All Democratic and Republican candidates for the office of Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky have been invited to participate in the televised forum.

“The setting of this forum at Kentucky State University is a great opportunity for the citizens of Kentucky to get up close and personal with the candidates,” said Dr. Doris Clark Sarr, a past president of KBC-LEO. “This will afford them the opportunity to have their voices heard on the type of leader we want in this important office.”

The Kentucky Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials was created in 1999 as a state chapter of the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials. KBC-LEO is a constituency group of the Kentucky League of Cities (KLC). KBC-LEO is a membership organization formed to provide a forum for Black elected officials and the community for the purpose of educating the members and the community through the sharing of ideas, experiences and knowledge. KBC-LEO is comprised of local elected officials, community leaders and professionals from across the commonwealth.

Media personality Mario Anderson, anchor/reporter for Spectrum News since November 2017, will moderate the forum. Anderson is also the host of In Focus Kentucky, a 30-minute public affairs talk show on Spectrum News Kentucky. Every Sunday at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Anderson invites experts from around the commonwealth to discuss a wide range of issues impacting Kentuckians.
