Kentucky Downs closing for 14 days — no coronavirus instances, but focus is stopping spread

Kentucky Downs is temporarily closing its facility in the best interest of public health and safety due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In a press release, Kentucky Downs said this was not a decision made lightly, but nothing is more important than the health and safety of guests, employees and its communities.

At this time, it will remain closed for 14 days.

“We are committed in the fight to stop the spread of this virus,” management said in the release. “We made several preventive efforts with frequent cleaning and additional sanitation stations to ensure a positive, healthy experience. Ultimately though, it is best to make this decision.”

Kentucky Downs is a gaming and horse racing destination. Consult Kentucky Downs’ Facebook page and kentuckydowns.com for additional updates.

The scheduled reopen date of Monday, March 30.
