Kentucky eBay employees give $10,000 of eBay Foundation funds to Covington Partners

The eBay Foundation Corporate Advised Fund of Silicon Valley Community Foundation has given a $10,000 grant to Covington Partners for its mentor program.

The funds will be used to enhance and sustain the Covington mentoring program which matches more than 200 volunteer mentors with students in the Covington Independent Public Schools. The program connects positive role models from the community with students in grades three through 12.

“This grant will allow us to continue the positive momentum we saw during the 2013-14 school year which included mentors spending over 3,300 hours of one-on-one time with students,” Covington Partners Executive Director Stacie Strotman said in a statement.

The foundation’s GIVE Team program allows employees of eBay Inc. to support their own communities through volunteerism and employee-sponsored grants. In 2013, GIVE Teams worldwide recommended more than 200 nonprofits for grants totaling more than $1.1 million.
