Kentucky falls to No. 18 in Associated Press top 25 following Tuesday’s loss to LSU

Kentucky dropped seven spots in this week’s Associated Press top 25 poll to No. 18, a week after its season-low loss to LSU and recovering with an 84-79 win over Missouri.

The No. 18 Wildcats face Ole Miss at home Tuesday before hitting the road Saturday against Mississippi State, a team Kentucky has already beaten 85-63 this season.

Syracuse became the No. 1 team, earning all 65 first-place votes. The Orange took over the top spot in the poll because of Arizona’s first loss of the season, a 60-58 road loss to California. Of course, the Orange’s exciting 91-89 overtime win over Duke on Saturday didn’t hurt, either.

Arizona dropped to No. 2. Florida, Wichita State and San Diego State rounded out this week’s top five.
