Legends' 2014 scheduled to feature 10 full weekend series among 70 home games

The Lexington Legends will open their 14th season on Thursday, April 3, 2014 when they take on their nearby South Atlantic League rivals, the West Virginia Power, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

The opening game will be the first in a seven-game homestand to start the season, which will be the Legends’ second as the class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. The season includes 70 home games, along with a wide variety of promotions and entertainment.

The Legends will continue to bring the Lexington and central Kentucky areas the safe, clean, affordable, family-fun entertainment that has been our mission since 2001.”

The 2014 schedule features 12 home games in April, 15 in May, 12 in June, 14 in July, and 17 in August. There are 10 full weekends — Friday, Saturday and Sunday games – on the home schedule.

Popular promotions such as Thirsty Thursdays, education days, fireworks nights, military appreciation, special nights for charitable organizations and many others, as well as some of the top entertainment acts on the minor league circuit, will be part of Legends baseball in 2014.
