Lexington Habitat for Humanity to celebrate another family’s completed home on Saturday

Lexington Habitat for Humanity will celebrate completed the construction of Joshua Muhonja and Charlotte Bihango’s new home on Saturday, July 13, from 2-3p.m. at 1805 Russell Cave Road in Lexington.

The couple will share their new home with six of their children, who are all excited to have a yard where they can play soccer together.

“Joshua and Charlotte understand that owning their home creates a solid foundation for their children’s futures,” shared Rachel Childress, Lexington Habitat CEO.

“They know that the self-reliance they attained through homeownership and the work they put in to achieve it sets an excellent example. Children are the future and these parents, along with home sponsors Valvoline and Wells Fargo Housing Foundation, help make it possible for them to succeed.”

At the dedication, the family will be presented with the keys to their new home, a Bible and a hammer.

Guests will be invited to tour the home and Joshua and Charlotte will share what the Lexington Habitat partnership and purchasing their home means to them.

When asked what they wanted to say to sponsors and volunteers, they said they want everyone to know that they thank the Lord for them, encourage them to continue to help others and shared Galations 6:9, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
