Lexington police officer suffers injuries in assault by a disorderly subject who is arrested


A Lexington Police officer suffered significant injuries Sunday when he was assaulted by a disorderly subject.

Michael B. Terry, 29, is charged with Assault 2nd Against a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Menacing, and Disorderly Conduct.
 
Around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 7, officers were dispatched to St. Joseph East Hospital on North Eagle Creek Drive for a man, later identified as Terry, causing a disorder in the emergency room.

As officers attempted to place Terry under arrest, he produced a sharp object, striking one of the officers in the upper torso.
 
Terry was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center. The officer is stable and alert at this time.
